Moving to Maryland

Well Looks like I am moving to Maryland at the end of August. I am excited about the change of scenery but I will miss my girlfriend and friends. Although my girlfriend will be moving up to join me in a few months and my friends are all moving around the country for jobs. It stinks that Miami is so bad for Electrical Engineering Jobs. Oh well, I found a great apartment up there, just outside of Maryland. If anyone finds them self around that area, please feel free to contact me. And remember Ski trip this Christmas!

Till I move I have been helping out my friends with their senior project and working. That's about it.

Country Music Awards

Since I haven't posted in awhile i figured I would make it an informative one.

I was able to watch the Country Music Awards the other night and I wanted to share my thoughts. First it was the best award show I have ever seen. Much more entertainment then awards and having Tivo helped with the commercials. What made the biggest difference though, is the feeling that the performers gave the audience. Each performer made sure the fans and the people were the most important thing to them, after the producers of course. Rascal Flats gave a tear jerking tribute to the Virgina Tech victims. Brooks & Dunn were awarded the Humanitarian Award for all the money and time they gave back to the community. Reba, the host, gave tribute to the Troops, which ended in a standing ovation. Lastly, Tim McGraw sang a song in tribute to the fallen heroes. In the end I could not ask for a better awards show.

Whether you like or dislike country music, I think everyone could benefit from a little southern kindness.

-On a personal note, I am enjoying my time traveling with my parents. I graduated on April 30th and will be starting at Turkey Point Nuclear around June 1st. Till then, I will be traveling from Maryland to New York on board the Allegria.

Bout Time

Well it's been awhile since I posted anything, but I have been busy. I am getting ready to graduate on April 30th with my Electrical Engineering Degree. I am following in my brothers footsteps I guess. My senior robot is complete and working, the team did a great job. Thanks Mike, Jose and Robert for all of your hard work.

Trucks running great and I am currently in the market for a bed cover.

Well the next step is some much needed time off the with folks, touring Norfolk to NY city. Then back home around June 1st to start working at Turkey Point Nuclear.

Thats about all right now.

Same Stuff

Well same stuff happening as usual. I installed a Dome/Map Light mod on the truck which will turn on the map lights along with the dome light when I open my door. The Tacoma comes standard with a dome light that illuminates slowly when you open the door. This mod allows the map lights to do the same.

Getting ready to graduate in May with my friends. But not really looking forward to working full time.

Projects DONE!!!

Well this is just a quick update on my projects. The senior 1 team pulled off a working robot! The robot performed beautifully and i could not of asked for a better run on the court. I have video and will post the pictures and video sometime next week. After the demonstration i went to charge the batteries and about 20 mins later the batteries exploded. Apparently the charger i bought doesn't automatically turn off when the batteries are full and also the batteries apparently didn't need to be charged. But the team won the competition. Next, my power presentation went flawless today. The gerbil didn't perform but we generated enough power with the solar cells and the gerbil powered generator (spinning the rotor my hand) that made for a great presentation. I will post pictures and video of both within the week.

Finals are Monday and Tuesday and then I am done. My Toyota Tacoma is coming in on Saturday the 16th and I am ecstatic! I just hope i pass all of my classes.

Parents are back and other Tech news

Well first off the parents are back. They got back on Friday and everything went smooth getting their boat into the slip. Kat helped me move the "Rent Due" and she did a great job. Dad's having withdrawals from being on the boat, but that's understandable, we all are when we leave. He did go with me to look at Trucks. For those of you who do not know me and are reading this I am looking for a 2007 Toyota Taco (Tacoma) that is dark blue...Well we ordered one and HOPEFULLY it will be here on the 16th. These next two weeks of finals is going to take forever. If the dealer cant get the one on the 16th then i will have to wait till the 23rd...but I hope it comes in on the 16th.

In Tech news, the Robot is almost done. The team has been working a ton on it and I will post details later. Right now i am writing reports and working on my gerbil powered generator. It is almost done and already generates 1.8 VAC at around 120 rpm. I used 8 coils of 50 wraps and I am going to add 2 more coils. I will post pictures when I get some time.

Have a good Day and pray that my truck comes in on the 16th.
